Deepavali 2020

By November 13, 2020 No Comments

Diwali or Deepavali is a festival of lights and a grand occasion to celebrate life. While Diwali holds significance for a variety of reasons, one of the core themes of the festival, as symbolised by the prevalence of lights, is the triumph of good over evil.

This mirthful & gratifying event is on the 14th of November 2020. At Maple Leaf Kingsley, our staff, teachers, students and wardens celebrate Deepavali by decorating our school and boarding with colourful kolams. Kolam is a creative Indian art executed using multi coloured raw rice. Our students used their creativity to patiently design the elaborative kolams with enthusiasm.

All the multi-ethnic traditional clothes of Malaysia are multi-coloured, bespoke of their culture and radiating vibrancy. During this festive season, Indian men in Malaysia wear kurta-pyjama, dhoti-kurta or lungi-kurta. Most Indian women wear saree & blouse while some women wear Salwar Kameez. Our students wore their Deepavali outfits during their online class as part of this celebration. Some colourful art and craft activities were done by them using multiple colours.

May all the darkness transform into happiness, joy, peace, unity and harmony. Wishing you a very Happy Deepavali.
